A cake walk
Although I deeply admire Mr. Douglas for his contribution to the film industry, and also his personal victory over his disability, I have to say, in spite of his battle with a disability, it was a cakewalk compared to the lives of many others, including myself. My reasons for saying that are,because of his notoriety, and money, he received special treatment medically, and a tremendous amount of attention by the press. Fortunately for him, depending where a stroke strikes in the brain affects different victims differently,and his damage was slight, for which I'm glad. I've written my own biography describing my stroke at the age of nine, and the obstacles not only myself, but all others like me. Mr. Douglas again, was fortunate, not having to grow up handicapped. People like me did not have the money like he has, and most of us who could, had to take low paying jobs, that most ( normal) people would decline.We all had to face the world at an early age, with hardly any protection; It did make us all much stronger.
Thank you;
Rolland Allard
