I enjoy visiting your website and like the fact that you provide free relationship reports to your visitors. I don't believe it's necessary to ask for donations or to even use the term donations when you are in fact an online business. It doesn't give your site any benefit to state this and it makes you appear deceiving. Too many companies try to hide behind the facade of a non-profit and I don't think it's appropriate here. (i.e., you state that you are doing volunteer work??) Just be frank and state it costs $10 or $20 for a report. It's also obvious you are deriving some type of income from your advertisers and I'm sure you probably hope at some time in the future your site will become famous like myspace.com or craigslist (then you could sell it and make a nice profit |

Dear synergylove,
I see your point about the pretence of asking for donations. The funny thing is that that's exactly what we meant. If we would sell the reports, their cost will be 2.5 times higher than the amount of donation that we request. When we do consultation for celebrities and their managers are calling for payment arrangement - we state that we do not sell our services and we ask them to donate to the cause of Top Synergy instead. We had a meeting, last Thursday with a company that wished to buy us out. Even though the proposed dollar amount was high we refused flat out. This site and the community, which will soon follow, are not about moneymaking opportunity but rather a life-long desire to contribute something bigger than us. On the other hand, I’m concerned about your observation that many websites are hiding behind donations and that it has become a laughable phenomena. Can you come up with an idea on how we can refine our message, other than to open a shop which we have no desire doing? By the way, at least one third of our donors make their contribution without asking for reports in return. I’m looking forward to your suggestions and continuous participation. |

It is worthy to see you attempt to re-do the list of famous people.
There still is the porblem of columns not being anything like even in size. It almost seems at though you should at least find a way to avoid the situation you have had for so long where the left column is so much longer than any of the others. Also, have you checked the relationships forum. i put up a forum about Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs about a wekk ago and it has not been replied to. Why is this ?? |

I tried playing again with the alphabetical distribution; even broke the list over four columns now - to no avail. Do not worry, though since we are still working on a whole new navigation structure as we discussed earlier. I wish we could move a bit faster but the day will eventually come As to your recent posts - sorry for the delay, but your much appreciated recommendations are now published. |

Having a look at the list of famous people, I have felt that (based on some past dictionaries and encyclopedias my parents have kept) that it would be a very good idea to try to split down the middle of a letter like "J" or "D" which is making the second column so long.
Have you though of that possibility??

However, as we discussed before, we haven't given up re-designing the indices look and functionality. It is only that lately we have experienced continuous server problems and postponed all postponable activities up until the storm would pass. Now, that we've migrated into a new and improve server, one that can carry and serve the ever-growing traffic load, we'll get back to the index design. This is the time and place to thank all the Synergists - our contributors who made such major investment possible. |
