Hi all,
I thought to poll you on your opinions about the Topsynergy Globetrotter idea, the free accomodation for travellers in our midst The Hospitality Club is one of the sites, where people provide free accomodation to its other world travelling members. You can read about the principles the site has, they seem quite sound to me, and if we Topsynergy members are interested to start such a list ourselves, some of those principles could be used as a foundation. Some basic principles could be: Firstly, naturally, it would be voluntary and free to join, no membership fees. People who'd like to come visit, contact you through Topsynergy, leaving you a PM message, your e-mail won't be displayed. On the Globetrotter member list would be only your user name, city and country. YOU decide just how much additional information about yourself members would see. You provide your full name, address and a valid e-mail and other optional info you want to the site admin, but they won't be visible to other members. 3. As a security measure the site suggested the visitor provide his/her user name, passport number and name to the host. But if you have other suggestions on how security could be handled, I'm all ears 4. You could block out times when you wish to have no visitors, for example your holidays, the exam season or work projects, times when you know you'll have relatives or guests over. Also it might be good to be able to state the maximum length of time how long visitors can stay at your place. Your opinions about the idea and suggestions how to improve it are more than welcome

Great idea and initiative, dyane.
We should set up a social group called GlobeTrotters, with its own forum and membership rules. Would you mind being the group's leader? Later on, you can assign other active members as co-leaders. This social group should have a board, where members post their assets, including photos and videos, and their desired target location. Once we get everything ready, we'll announce it's opening via the news and invite members to join the party. Any other suggestions on what this project requires? |
