Relationships Analyst Report by Top Synergy

I admit it. When Sam Shepard publishes a story, writes a play, gives an interview, or just shares his thoughts as he drifts in the vast wilderness of nature, my experience of his work changes how I see the world. He blazes trails no one else can even find. Even more startling, he mostly invites you along. When Sam opens a door in the mind, he actually removes it.

If you run my link with Sam, it will become plain to you that even the crickets singing at dusk in the graveyard have got more to say than me and Mr. Shepard stuck in an elevator for ten hours.

What does total zero mean? (Warning. This is not a zen exercise. )

Well to me it means that you are willing to commit to a relationship with him and to share intimacy with him, while he is not. Nothing is shared also. He does not feel the "impulse" to have some kind of relationship with you, even though such a relationship is possible if it had to happen, it would take a lot of work though. You two don't have any synergy either, so work with him will not be the easiest. Maybe even that you discover so many things in his work that weren't really in his mind when he created them. He may see the world in a different way than you discover it. You have a lot of imagination and it helps you see something that he might have not seen in the first place. Communication between you two might not be at a deep level, but maybe it's not the man you really love but your perception of how he is. You also need to dissociate between the man and his work, there's no scientific or any other positive correlation between the quality of the work a man does and the way that man is, it could be only a reflection of just one of his qualities (I'm talking in general, because I don't know Sam).
It's your perspective of the world reflected in his words that fascinates you. Maybe you're an artist who wants to create and you have all the right images in your mind but you wish you could find the words to express them as easily as he does. If that is the case, go for it, it only takes practice.

I'm also very curious to see what Shlomo has to say. He promised to also weigh in on the meaning of TOTAL ZERO. That sounds like a great title for a movie doesn't it? Hey, guys? Do you hear crickets chirping? Guys?

So here's Shlomo, awestruck by alex1's wisdom and beauty of expression, and in love with claygal's sharp humor.

There's not much intelligent input to add to alex1's interpretation, but a promise is a promise

I'm sure that I didn't promise to comment on the zeros because I never pay attention to the RQs. My observation focuses on the underlying qualities of the relationship, I.E. commitment, intimacy, passion, and synergy.

Assuming ClayGal's biting humor to be a defensive shield from hurts and resentments, I'd bet that she (you) doesn't come across many relationships that allow her to open up her heart, share her vulnerabilities and "darkest secrets" and feel the comfort of not being judged, criticized or labeled. And here, we see a powerful intimacy of two; no wonder ClayGal feels such a strong pull toward Sam.

One last observation: based on the two relationship reports with Jessica Lange and Patti Smith, bilateral relationships were never the strong side of Sam Shepard

I'm really lucky to have good friends with whom I am vulnerable and even luckier in that my friends aren't judgmental, critical or prone to label me. But one thing we use in great abundance is humor, and we do use it to face uncomfortable situations. An example of this was my friend's wife left him to have an affair with his best friend. He looked at us and told us "I really miss him." Of course, we ended up talking about that tragedy with compassion and empathy. But that was after we laughed at the skillful way he shared whom he blamed most. I thank you Shlomo and Alex for your insights into Sam and total zero. I love all this great information about this fascinating system, and I think that I am getting close to understanding RQ's and synergy. Cheers, Claygal
